Canterbury Technical Clearinghouse Newsletter One: 28 September 2010
Dear Colleagues;
Most of you should be aware that I am coordinating the Christchurch-based technical group meetings associated with the Darfield (Canterbury) Earthquake on behalf of the NZSEE. These meetings are primarily to assist the local engineering (and wider) technical community to discuss and share technical information related to the reconstruction.
The Canterbury Structural Group (CSG) held a well attended forum on 22 September (see summary) and will meet again on 6 October. Amongst other presentations and discussion, there are ten decision questions on which opinion is being collected before the next meeting.
The NZ Geotechnical Society are hosting a forum on Tuesday 28 September. Those of you who are in Christchurch are welcome to attend this or the CSG meetings to provide a broader perspective (to both the meeting and to the groups you are associated with).
I am also coordinating the visiting scientists, who are now arriving more sporadically than in recent weeks, and would appreciate a CC of their itinerary so we can make and reestablish contact in the future. There is a (very) incomplete list of visiting scientists.
I have arranged a technical clearinghouse to point to (and where necessary, supplement) the reports and other material published in both public and private clearinghouses. I have listed the clearinghouses that I am aware of, and welcome additions that you are aware of which would assist the Christchurch technical community.
